This work is an extension of my senior design project, which aimed to design a electropermanent magnet (EPM) based microactuator. An axisymmetric EPM ring core serves as the actuator base with an outer low coercivity switchable magnet and a high coercivity fixed inner magnet. A solenoid coil is wound around the EPM core which will magnetize/demagnetize the core depending on its polarity. An elastic bellow with a magnet at the top is actuated up and down.
